Tomie was reading an article last week in the NEW YORK TIMES about Chelsea Clinton's wedding. He was surprised to read that it was speculated the wedding would be held at Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, New York. Astor Courts is owned by his friend Kathy Hammer and her husband.
Kathy attended an autographing a couple of years ago, and invited Tomie to see the house. But, he couldn't go because he was on book tour, and had a tight schedule to keep.
When Kathy and Tomie spoke last night, Kathy said she couldn't say anything.
Sounds like a confirmation!
Or is it?

Strike a Pose
We went to see "The 39 Steps" yesterday with Connie and Peggy (owners of Morgan Hill Bookstore) at the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont. (Tomie performed on the stage of the Playhouse many, many years ago.) The performance was flawless in quite possibly the most comfortable AIR-CONDITIONED theater in northern New England.

Long Lost Relative?
After decades of explaining to people that his last name was pronounced "da-POW-la," seconds of a TV show erased those efforts.
So we've been told... because no one here watches "those" programs...
There is a cast member on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" whose name is Kim DePaola. Her last name is pronounced "D. Payola."
She owns a store in New Jersey called "Posche," pronounced "Posh."
Tomie has never shopped at Posche.
