Nancy Whitcher, a former art teacher in Tomie's hometown of Meriden, Connecticut, came to the studio today with her friend Mario Cavallo. Nancy brought with her Meriden high schools' seniors' portfolio submissions for the 2009 Tomie dePaola Art Scholarship so that Tomie could select the recipients.
