BREAKING NEWS

The American Library Association has just announced at its Midwinter Meeting in San Diego that Tomie is the 2011 Laura Ingalls Wilder Award winner.

The award honors an author or illustrator whose books, published in the United States, have made, over a period of years, a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.

Tomie teared up when he received the phone call. He still tears up when talking about it. He's very excited.
