F & G's (folded and gathered proofs) of Tomie's Spring 2011 book, LET THE WHOLE EARTH SING PRAISE, were just delivered by Rob, the FedEx guy. Here's the front cover.
From the front jacket flap:
"Celebrate Your World! There's joy to be found everywhere you look -- the sun and moon, mountains and rivers, plants and animals, and all people, young and old. Inspired by Old Testament Scripture and the beautiful folk art of the Otomi people of Puebla, Mexico, beloved author-illustrator Tomie dePaola praises the beauty of Creation, making this book a delight to share with the whole family."
Publication is expected before April 22, Earth Day, 2011.

Tomie went shopping Thursday at Burdick Chocolates in Walpole, New Hampshire. He needed a birthday gift for a birthday party. The birthday girl will be 90, and the party will be hosted by Governor John and Dr. Susan Lynch. Although the birthday girl doesn't want gifts, it is known that she likes chocolates and scotch. Burdick's sells chocolates WITH scotch in them.
As to the "I love it here" sign, the State of New Hampshire is once again asking the public, and a selected few, such as Tomie, to take photos of their favorite places in the state.

This past Sunday Tomie took his childhood dancing school teacher "Miss Leah" (far right), Leah's cousin Rhoda (far left), and his childhood dancing partner Carol (former First Lady of the University at Buffalo) to see "Billy Elliot" on Broadway in New York City.
Other guests included Leah's son Steve, Leah's daughter-in-law Suzan, and Leah's granddaughter Shaina, and "Tomie's Blog" blogger.
It was a magical afternoon for Tomie, and his guests.
