A Sinking Feeling

Fifty-seven years ago, the Andrea Doria ocean liner was hit by the Stockholm ocean liner off of Nantucket. The Andrea Doria was returning to the US from Europe. The Andrea Doria sank during the late evening of July 24 and early morning of July 25, 1956.

Tomie had been on the Andrea Doria when it sailed to Europe. He wasn't on the return voyage because he stayed in Europe for a few weeks.

Here's a photo of Tomie on the Andrea Doria during the trip to Europe.

Morgan Hill Bookstore Has New Owners

Connie Appel and Peggy Holliday transferred ownership of their 18-year-old store, Morgan Hill Bookstore, to Anna and Chris Miner on July 1, 2013.

Here's Tomie with Anna and Chris and their daughters at a meet-and-greet organized by Connie and Peggy.

New London, NH, and the Greater Lake Sunapee Region, are fortunate to have an independent bookstore with new owners who want to continue the good will of Connie and Peggy, and bring a fresh outlook to a small town bookstore.

Welcome to New London, Miner Family!
