Fiona and Jessica were in New England visiting colleges, and stopped to visit Tomie as they traveled from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire to Brown University in Rhode Island.
Tomie had met them just a few days earlier at a memorial service for his godmother, cousin and mentor, Kathryn "Fuffy" Abbe, on Long Island. Fuffy had been a Quaker, so the service was held in a wonderful Quaker Friends meeting house in Jericho, New York. It was an emotional and beautiful remembrance service for Fuffy.
Jessica, Fiona and Jessica's sister, Jenny, came east to represent the West Coast Abbes at the memorial. Jessica is co-producer with her husband, Toby McLeod, of the Sacred Land Film Project.
