The original Pocky snacks (introduced first) and the original Pepero snacks are chocolate-coated biscuit sticks. The observances are similar to Valentine's Day. The exact origins are unknown, but most people believe it is celebrated on November 11 because the date 11/11 resembles four Pocky/Pepero snacks.
